The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum celebrates special 152nd birthdays: The City of Wichita was officially “born” July 21, 1870, just 3 months after the establishment of Sedgwick County Kansas.

The Historical Museum is the place to celebrate local history year-round and opens with free admission for the weekend in return for a Birthday Card to any of Sedgwick County’s towns and cities including:  UNINCORPORATED TOWNS of Anness, Bayneville, Berwet, Clonmel, Furley, Greenwich, Greenwich Heights,  Murray, Gill, Oaklawn – Sunview, Peck, Prospect, St. Mark, St. Mary, Aleppo, St. Paul, Schulte, Sunnydale, Trails View (formerly Spasticville), Waco and Wego; VANISHED TOWNS: Davidson, Hatfield, Huckle, Jamesburg, Marshall, Oatville, (1st) Park City and Wichita Heights; MUNICIPALITIES: Andale, Bel Aire, Bentley, Cheney, Clearwater, Colwich, Derby, Eastborough, Garden Plain, Goddard, Haysville, Kechi, Maize, Mt.
