Spring Break Tours & Activities – March 21-23
Child’s World exhibit
The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is offering an engaging and fun opportunity for students and family members to learn about Wichita’s history during spring break! Reservations requested – call the Museum at 316-265-9314.
Tuesday, March 21 – 1:30-3:30 – Special guided tour of the “Child’s World” exhibit. Peek into the past to see what it was like to be a kid a century ago! Followed by a hands-on activity to provide an authentic experience! Recommended for ages 5-12.
Wednesday, March 22 – 1:30-3:30 – Special guided tour of the “Magic City” exhibit. Participants will learn about the early days of Wichita and its rapid growth from a vast prairie to a bustling city, as well as the early settlers and their interaction with the Native Americans. We will examine buffalo artifacts and make a craft! Recommended for ages 5-12.
Thursday, March 23 – 1:30 – 3:30 – Pay a visit to the Wichita Cottage and discover domestic life of the 1890s. The tour will include learning about Victorian customs and etiquette, entertainment and technology, followed by a Victorian craft! Recommended for ages 5-12.
*Parents can come along with their child on the tour and stay to do a craft together or they can drop their child off. There will also be a bilingual teacher to communicate in Spanish.
