Summer Workshops for Youth!

2008.27.42croppedThe Museum has several special workshops for young people  this summer!

“Cursive Writing Workshop” from 1pm – 3pm, June 6-9, (Tuesday-Friday). Students will learn to write in cursive. Recommended for students entering third grade and up. Fee: $20 – Scholarships available – contact the Museum for details.

“Wichita Song Workshop” from 10AM-12PM, June 13-16, (Tuesday-Friday). Each day students will tour exhibits and put what they learn to work with our Music Educators to create songs celebrating local heritage. The final day includes a performance and reception. Recommended for students entering third grade and up. Fee: $20 – Scholarships available – contact the Museum for details.

 

“History Writing Workshop” from 10AM-12PM, July 11-14, (Tuesday-Friday). Students will meet each day to tour exhibits and put what they learn into a writing project based on our local history. Each student or team will have a short story at the end of the workshop. Local author, Debra Seely, will be the teacher. Recommended for students entering third grade and up. Fee: $20 – Scholarships available – contact the Museum for details.

“History Day Prep Course” from 10AM-11:30AM, August 8-11, (Tuesday-Friday). Students will tour exhibits and take what they learn to explore National History Day project ideas. After this week, students can continue to meet for monthly workshops throughout the school year. Recommended for students entering 6th grade – 12th grade. Fee: $20 – Scholarships available – contact the Museum for details.
