Spring Break Programs

March 20th, 21st, 22nd Tours & Activities 1- 4pm at the Museum

Participation is free.  However, space is limited. Reservations are strongly recommended. Appropriate for ages 2nd grade and up. Space is limited to 18.

Tuesday, March 20, 1:00 – 3:00: “Cowboy up” and join us for some fun. Explore the lives of early settlers and the Cowboys who drove cattle up from Texas through a special tour. Make a buffalo silhouette in a Kansas sunset. Play some Cowboy Blackjack. Savor a Buffalo Chip cookie.

Wednesday, March 21, 1:00-3:00: Come celebrate Wichita!  Take a tour of special exhibits. Make a Wichita flag. Play “Musical Chairs” to Wichita songs. Savor a sugar cookie.

Thursday, March 22, 1:00-3:00: Tour the seven room Victorian Cottage and see up close how life was lived in Wichita 125 years ago. Craft a personal Victorian calling card. Have fun playing low-tech skill games like “Old Maid,” “Pick-up-Sticks,” and marbles. Savor a delicious sugar cookie or some horehound candy.

Tuesday, March 20- Thursday, March 22 3:00-4:00 All ages are invited to come learn and practice the art of cursive handwriting. An experienced teacher will guide letter formation of upper and lower case letters as well as writing your full name. We recommend coming all three days. It is free, but space is limited, so reservations are strongly encouraged.
