Why We Collect, What We Collect

The Museum’s collection of over 70,000 objects has been assembled over the greater part of the past century. Artifacts accessioned to the collection are selected for their relevance to our local history. These artifacts remain with us as the tangible evidence of the past. They make the telling of events compelling as they offer truth through proof.

This exhibit features recently acquired artifacts and places them into personal, societal, economic and artistic context which provides future generations the ability to interpret the world that preceded their own.
