Join us for old-fashioned fun! We’ll play with the same toys children played with a hundred years ago – test your skills with jacks, spin a top, or shoot some marbles as we explore A Child’s World. We’ll even make a craft and savor some ginger snaps! Recommended for children ages 7 and up. Free and open to the public; reservations recommended. Email Laurie Conner, or call 316-265-9314 for reservations.

A Victorian Christmas

The Historical Museum is filled with Christmas wonders. Come delight in the ambiance of the season through the eyes of the Victorians. We will tour the Wichita Cottage, decorated for the holidays, and make a Christmas card. All ages welcome. Free and open to the public; reservations recommended. Email Laurie Conner at or call 316-265-9314 for reservations.

The Spirit of Wichita – The Magic City

Friday, December 22th 2-3:30 pm

Cost for this event is $15.00. Members are free.

During The Spirit of Wichita – The Magic City experiential tour, you will encounter the spirit that propelled a unique place and its people to create magic and shape the future of the world. This experience takes you from the post-Civil War settlement of a prairie wilderness 15 years forward to the fastest growing city in the U.S. quickly followed by the dawn of aviation, the modern age, oil wealth, a new era of entertainment, war, civil rights, fast-food, and into the future.

See special artifacts from the Museum’s collection and archives not generally on display to the public. You may encounter a few memorable Wichitans along the way! End your experience in the 1920s Drug Store’s soda fountain with treats served by a soda jerk.

Space is limited for this special tour and reservations are requested. Free for Museum members; $15 admission for non-members. Make your reservation at or call 316-265-9314.
