The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum celebrates special 152nd birthdays: The City of Wichita was officially “born” July 21, 1870, just 3 months after the establishment of Sedgwick County Kansas.
The Historical Museum is the place to celebrate local history year-round and opens with free admission for the weekend in return for a Birthday Card to any of Sedgwick County’s towns and cities including: UNINCORPORATED TOWNS of Anness, Bayneville, Berwet, Clonmel, Furley, Greenwich, Greenwich Heights, Murray, Gill, Oaklawn – Sunview, Peck, Prospect, St. Mark, St. Mary, Aleppo, St. Paul, Schulte, Sunnydale, Trails View (formerly Spasticville), Waco and Wego; VANISHED TOWNS: Davidson, Hatfield, Huckle, Jamesburg, Marshall, Oatville, (1st) Park City and Wichita Heights; MUNICIPALITIES: Andale, Bel Aire, Bentley, Cheney, Clearwater, Colwich, Derby, Eastborough, Garden Plain, Goddard, Haysville, Kechi, Maize, Mt. Enjoy refreshment and music in the Museum’s Heritage Square explore local history in dozens of exhibits on all four floors.
