May 26th – Jay Price and Enrique Navarro tell the story of the Somos de Wichita/We are Wichita project, a bilingual exhibit that tells the story of Latino families in Wichita in the 20th century. Funded through a Humanities Kansas grant, this project originally was to consist of portable free-standing displays with an accompanying photo digitization project. With the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, however, the project had to be re-envisioned as a virtual exhibit with the cornerstone being the Somos.wichita.edu web site and continues in 2021 with a photo history on the North End’s Latino story.
