The world’s most popular musical instrument made its debut from the Wichita area in 1932 – the Electric Guitar. Since then Sedgwick County has given rise to a number of guitar heroes including Joe Walsh of the Eagles to Marcie Reyes, a troubadour on the Chautauqua circuit. Today, as part of its collection, the Museum boasts of numerous guitars belonging to these local heroes. They will be exhibited in a veritable “Hall of Fame” setting in the Museum’s second floor “West Gallery.” This special exhibit is one of dozens on view through out the Museum, located in Wichita’s original City Hall building.
