Senior Wednesday – Kansas Day Celebration

A celebration of statehood in song and verse!

Over the past several years, it has become a tradition at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum to celebrate Kansas statehood with live performances in song and verse, harkening back to the cowboy years of Kansas. Kansas joined the union in 1861 as other states left to form the confederacy leading to the Civil War. Sedgwick County and the City of Wichita were established 9 years later in 1870 during the height of the cowboy era.

Before coming out for our annual Kansas Day Celebration on the 28th, the Diamond “W” Wranglers and Jenny Lou and the Buckaroos and other local performers including “Cowboy Poet” Scott Wiswell, will put on an hour-long performance for a special Kansas Day Senior Wednesday on January 24th!

Doors open at 9:30am
Non-Member Admission Fee – $2 (Annual Memberships available starting at $25- Learn more at: Memberships)
